Blood Stains. Do not treat blood stains with water hotter than 90 degrees, or it will set, and become permanent.
Heavy Soil. For heavy, heavy soil, begin wash load with supplies added and agitated, and then interrupt cycle (either by opening lid or stalling timer) without draining, and allow load to soak for a as much time as practical/possible to allow chemistry to work more effectively. Some heavy soil cycles in commercial laundries run the better part of an hour with better mechanical action than available in home washers.
Do not overload or underload the washer. Items need room to agitate, but too few items reduces the mechanical action (rubbing) that helps remove stains. Just use the right combination of chemicals and make sure they are not packed in the washer too tight. They must have room to "dance"! If they are still soiled after that, you must not let them dry. Put back in the water, either rewash or soak until the next day.
Chlorine bleach . Chlorine bleach,if over used, will cause damage to cotton fibers and if not rinsed out, will further damage cotton in the dryers, and also cause yellowing when heated.
